Combination poly strapping tools do all the work.  Use one tool to tension, seal, and cut the banding at the joint.  There are manual combo tools that take a single seal insert, or magazine clip of multiple seals.  The operator cranks the handle to tension, then throws the handle to seal and cut.  Pneumatic combo tools have great duribility, and are very fast.  These are prefered for shift work where the strapping area is in the same location.  They generally use a vibratory heat weld to melt the strapping together.  Battery combo tools are great if the banding area moves around.
