Signode RCNS-250 Reverse Notch Sealer for 2" Steel Strapping
The RCNS-250 is used to notch 2" x 0.025" -0.050" HT steel strapping. The compressed air does the hard work and provides a strong secure seal for hard to reach or more difficult applications, and when rapid production is needed. 2" Steel Strap is intended for use on heavy duty applications. Since this Signode tool is only a sealer, a separate tensioner has to be used to pull the strap tight. The WP-2 windlass tensioner from Signode compliments the strapping specifications of the RCNS250. Since it is from the same manufacturer of the RCNS250, it has the same properties and quality assurance of all Signode models.
RCNS250 sealer can be replaced with battery powered tools for 2" steel strapping and are a good alternative. Check out the SN2 sealer, and the STB2 tensioner for a complete set without the airlines.

Instead of steal, many are looking at heavy duty cord strapping with 7,700 pound break strength, 12,000 pound break strength, and 15,000 pound break strength. They use a new battery powered cord lash tension C11, and use a ladder style buckle instead of a seal. Energy pipe is almost exclusively banded with this lashing in gondala railcars since 2015 instead of steel strapping. 2" steel strapping is hard to use, but the RCNS250 is by far the easiest to use pneumatic sealer. This is a notch (cut) style, so make sure your railroad or ship yard does not require crimped seals. Before you commit to keeping air/pneumatic powered RCNS250 tools, you should look at the SN2 battery powered sealer. The SN2 is lighter and more ergonomic than the Signode RCNS250, plus there is not an air hose trip hazard that needs dragged to each bunk.
