Golden Bear’s Kodiak Battery Powered Steel Strapping Combo Tool
Lead time currently 4-6 weeks
Introducing the Kodiak Battery-Powered Steel Strapping Tool—the first tool capable of tensioning, sealing, and cutting 1 1/4" high tensile steel strapping! Streamline your operations with its single-button operation. Just press the automatic button, and the tool will effortlessly pull up, seal, and cut in one swift motion. With the Kodiak, the work is done for you, eliminating the need for a second button in auto mode.
For manual control, utilize the tension button. This allows you to jog and stop precisely, preventing any damage to telescoped cores on steel coils. The seal button conveniently double notches the seal and cuts the banding. The Kodiak is an invaluable addition to any work facility that utilizes steel strapping.
This revolutionary combo tool weighs only 14.3 pounds, freeing you from the constraints of air hoses and balancers. Powered by batteries, you can move the tool anywhere around the shop or yard without the need for a pneumatic hose. The Kodiak is both rapid and robust, effortlessly generating 1,600 pounds of tension.
To operate the tool, insert a strap and ensure the seal is in the jaw stack. When this is done, the red automatic cycle button will turn green, indicating readiness to use. When using the Kodiak, slide the tool on the strap, positioning it 6-12 inches behind the seal, and then bring it up to the seal. In most cases, the auto mode (green button) is suitable. However, if you need to place a corner protector, the manual tension rocker allows you to jog, stop, jog again, or switch to auto.
Built-in Maintenance Features:
Here are two handy features that you won't need to use frequently:
- If the sealing head goes out of sync, simply press the seal button to reset and bring the jaws back to their original position.
- Should a pusher seal become stuck in the jaws, use the jaw release screw located on the right side. Loosening it will allow the jaws to move aside, enabling you to remove the stuck seal. This feature will significantly simplify repairs, particularly as it is a task disliked by our tool repair experts when a PRHR (pneumatic Signode combo tool) arrives with a stuck seal. Remember to lock the jaw back down when you are finished, and you'll be promptly back to strapping!

The Kodiak is a great tool! This is the only tool on the market that pulls tension, seals, and cuts in the same tool. Traditionally steel service centers would drag around the PN2-114 pneumatic tensioner, and T the air line into a second RCNS2-114 sealer, and at the end of the cycle the PN would be bent up and down until the band breaks. NOT ANYMORE! Now, one tool does everything. Power is switching to batteries, and we can’t wait to get this in plants! We helped develop this tool. Speed up your lines, and get this tool in your plant! This is great for eye ties on slit coil packaging line, or for a pipe line where the weight of a PRHR (and air line) is trouble. For push style steel strapping, we highly recommend the Kodiak Combo Tool.
